What is a Perfect Peel?
The Perfect Peel is a blend of minerals, vitamins and acids which boast anti-aging properties that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to make skin look younger, clearer and healthier.
What does it do?
Developed in LA, this glutathione-rich treatment is medically proven to reverse skin damage.
Visually, the effects of the Perfect Peel are amazing.
The finished result is a lighter and brighter complexion which appears naturally tighter and firmer.
But this powerful chemical treatment can also…
- Slow down the ageing process and prevent wrinkles
- Improve acne conditions, scarring and Melasma
- Remove or reduce sun damage and age spots
- Stimulate production of collagen for firmer skin
- Eliminate or reduce Hyperpigmentation
- Improve overall skin tone and texture
- Reduce pore size and soften fine lines
How does the Perfect Peel work?
As we get older, our bodies naturally produce less glutathione – an antioxidant which is scientifically proven to fight the damage caused by exposure to the sun, air pollutants and other environmental stress.
To fight premature ageing and wrinkling, glutathione penetrates deep into the skin’s cellular level to lighten dark pigmentations and repair damage caused by tanning.
From a practical perspective, nothing usually happens until a couple of days after the treatment – when thin sheets of epidermis skin tissue start to peel away.
Depending on your skin type and sensitivity, this gentle resurfacing process takes three to four days.
During this time, you CANNOT pick, peel or remove the shedding skin because it could potentially cause scarring.
After seven to 10 days, your entire complexion should be totally transformed, leaving you looking and feeling completely refreshed.
How long does a Perfect Peel take?
Although the actual chemical peel process only takes around 15-20 minutes for our healthcare professionals to administer, a Botastic MediSpa consultation last for around an hour.
All appointments include:
- Preliminary appointment and medical consultation
- Chemical peel
- Administering the peel
- After-care kit and SPF cream
- Out of hours support
Does it hurt? Are there any side effects?
Unlike other chemical peels, no skin preparation is required and most people do NOT experience any significant pain during the treatment.
You may feel a slight tingling sensation, but this usually wears off quickly after a few seconds once the Phenol kicks in a few seconds after the peel solution is applied to the skin.
In the immediate hours after the peel, your skin may appear redder or darker - similar to the effects of sunburn – but this is natural and nothing to worry about.
During the three-day peeling process, your skin will obviously be more sensitive until its PH levels are replenished and your skin becomes rehydrated.
Avoid doing any strenuous exercise, which may cause excessive sweating and irritate the skin, until the ‘shedding’ process is complete.
When is best time to get a Perfect Peel?
When the sunny Summer months draw to a close, it tends to mark the official start of ‘Peel Season’ in the health and beauty industry.
Here’s why…
Going on holiday, playing in the pool and generally being outdoors takes its toll on your skin.
You may appear to have a healthy-looking tan, but your complexion is probably quite dehydrated, pigmented and in need of some TLC.
Thankfully, we are exposed to far less UV rays during Autumn and Winter (and we tend to stay indoors more) so they’re the optimal seasons to invest in a peel treatment.
If you want to benefit from that no make-up glow for longer, book your annual aesthetic peel online now to complement your everyday skin-care routine.

When will I see the results? How long will they last?
For most Botastic patients, one treatment is enough for them to see their complexion improve - appearing smoother and refreshed.
Usually, results are apparent 4 to 8 weeks after undergoing the Perfect Peel treatment.
If you use highly-quality products to maintain your skin on a regular basis, the improvements should be permanent Obviously, this will depend on your skin’s tone, texture and its natural ageing process.
People suffering from severe acne or skin conditions like Melasma may require more than one peel for optimal results.
What can a chemical peel do for acne?
Designed specifically to improve problematic skin conditions, the Perfect Peel is ideal for treating acne and can help to minimise the scarring it causes.
Even the official NHS advice about chemical peels states that they are completely safe and are best suited for people with hyper-pigmentation or anyone who is experiencing acne scarring.
This is because of the active glutathione ingredient, which has deep penetrating qualities, that can help your skin’s cellular structure to improve and significantly reduces stubborn scars.
For seriously scarred complexions, a series of peels may be necessary.
Is it safe for all skin types?
Unlike some chemical peels, no skin preparation is required beforehand and the Perfect Peel is suitable for all skin types to use safely.
You must be over 18 to receive the treatment.
Who is the Perfect Peel not suitable for?
You cannot receive this treatment if you are breastfeeding, pregnant or have a pre-existing health condition.
Chemical peels are also not suitable for people with:
- Sensitive skin

- Rosacea

Will I need any specialist aftercare?
As part of your bespoke Botastic treatment plan, our therapist will issue a home treatment aftercare pack to enhance your results.
Each pack contains retinol wipes and a vitamin C moisturiser, which will assist with the peeling process.
Make-up must not be worn for at least 48 hours after the day when the peel is applied.
Exposure to the sun and UV rays should also be limited for a week after the peel to avoid uneven results.
We will also advise you about the best anti-ageing skincare regime to follow in order to complement your skin type and the final outcome.
